There was once a Korean bbq/steakhouse/fine dining established that I photographed multiple times - at least six visits seems like a fair recollection. From interiors, to dishes, to full menus, I shot the heck out of this place and it has only come to occur to me that it is no longer in business less than six months after opening, which is a shame, especially with how beautiful the space and dishes came out.

Rosevale
I’ve previously shown images of my work with Rosevale, at the Civilian Hotel, but I was also hired to shoot some dishes that the chef was experimenting with using for their opening. Here are some images of those plates.
Rosevale Kitchen
Rosevale is a restaurant at the Civilian Hotel in Times Square and I have previously shared some beverage photos from their cocktail menu but I also did a shoot for them in their kitchen, as they were first opening up and testing dish ideas. It’s very tricky to shoot in a kitchen because, as a photographer, you’re always in someone’s way but luckily the kitchen had not yet fully been open and there was just the chef and sous-chef in a very large space, which gave me free reign and the opportunity to take these below photos.
The Independent
The Independent is a midtown-gastropub owned by The Stout Hospitality group. As one might imagine, in addition to all sorts of elevated bar-fare, the restaurant is known for their mixology and beer selection. These photos were taken for The Stout Hospitality Group for the marketing of The Independent.
Dowling's at The Carlyle
The prestigious Carlyle has opened a new space which I was fortunate enough to shoot for their marketing collaterals. This was one of the first shoots that I started using my 100mm macro lens, which if of of the few prime lenses in my arsenal. For efficiency, I’m usually using zoom lenses (including my 24-70mm) but having an entire restaurant closed for the shoot allowed for plenty of space to move around, which allowed for greatly flexibility using a less flexible lens.
